Welcome Again!

January 1, 2013

My dear readers, thank you so much for visiting my blog. To the many of you who returned from time to time but found nothing new, I'm very sorry. To say "I have been so busy," offers no comfort. So, I took this time before the year's end to sit down and make amends.
The new posts below will introduce you to the many stories I’ve written for your enjoyment. I grew up in India experiencing a culture rich with folklore . The storytelling tradition made a lasting impact on my personality. In fact, ever since childhood I wanted to be a storyteller – more than anything else – so I became a writer.
My dear readers, as you explore this blog and my new website, ShahzadRizvi.com, I hope my novels will serve as your private guide to India, not as one might read in books, but as I personally experienced it.
My stories are filled with characters drawn from real people or their composites. Many of the settings are real and may still remain unchanged.  These stories will transport you for a time to exotic lands.  They'll entertain you. They'll thrill you. And some will even amuse you.
Be careful though... once you begin, you wont want to stop.
- S A Rizvi

The Love Story of a British Officer and an Indian Princess

British diplomat Nigel loves India and Muslim culture, but not his spoiled wife Pamela. Instead, he has fallen in love with the married Muslim princess of the princely state where he serves.

Every aspect of this relationship is impossible, yet Nigel and Princess Mehru are consumed with each other and must find a way to be together.

Nigel puts everything at risk for Mehru, including his profession, his marriage, his prestige, and his closest relationships. Then Pamela is found stabbed to death.

Every finger points to Nigel as the logical suspect. But did he do it? His fate hangs on the state’s brilliant Jewish Prime Minister, whose attempts to unite the lovers have landed him in prison for treason.

Surprising twists, vivid characters, a tale of love against all odds, and a rich, revealing portrait of India make for a fascinating read.
